Lets Talk About the Hard Stuff
Being a foster parent is not an easy journey BUT you are not alone!

WELCOME!
I am here to talk about the hard stuff no one wants to talk about. Being a foster parent is hard. Being an adoptive parent is hard. Living with trauma and experiencing secondary trauma is hard. Most people want to shove the hard into the back of the closet, where no one can see it, so when guests come over it looks like they live in a pristine house and their life is completely organized and everyone is perfect. BUT WE ARN'T PERFECT!!
Join me in talking about the hard stuff. Lets bring it out of the closet and into the light and show it off! Life as a foster parent is hard, but when we try and hide our shame, and our kids shame, we teach them to not be themselves. Lets change that!

Event Speaker
Heather is a very passionate woman who would love to come a speak at your church or event. She will share her journey as a foster parent and adoptive parent while sharing God's word and His calling on His people to care for the orphans.

"Hearing Heather speak makes you feel like you are sitting in a coffee shop with her. She brings you into the story and makes you feel seen and heard."

TBRI Practitioner
Heather became a licensed TBRI Practitioner in 2019 through the Karyn Pervis Institute. TBRI is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. Heather put her training to the test in her own home first. Once she saw the way it changed things she knew she had to share. She has taken several families through the training and works one-on-one to help families implement these practical tools.
